By the end of this Chain Making Workshop, you will have transformed sterling silver jump rings into a chain link bracelet finished with a handmade toggle clasp to take home.

Skills taught :: making jump rings, soldering, using pliers like a pro, filing, polishing.
In this class you will be supported throughout the day by a professional jeweller in learning how to make your own chains in copper and silver.
Techniques covered in this class include:
– Making jump rings and links of all shapes and sizes
– Soldering jump rings
– Creating finished chains
– Texturing and cutting metal and links
– Experimenting with different chain designs from small and intricate to chunky and statement
Chains can be worn alone as a piece of jewellery or can be used to enhance your other jewellery by adding beads, pendants, charms etc…
This is a fun filled, intensive day of working in traditional methods with silver and a range of base metals.
Making chains means that you can really personalise every part of your jewellery and will also give you lots of practice with your soldering!
What you need to bring to this class:
For this class you don’t need to bring anything but yourself as everything is provided.
This is a Flexitime class, which means the teacher can run this class around your schedule.
Number of people in a Flexitime class. You need to be a group of 2.

Duration: 1 lesson, a total of approximately 6 hours

Please wear comfortable “work” clothes, with full closed toed shoes, long hair tied back, and no scarves or sleeves that could present a hazard. We have ample free street parking in front of the studio.
Suitable for beginners with no previous experience necessary. For all our workshops the age limit is aged 12 and up can participate however under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.

Health and Safety
For health and safety issues, persons with long hair will be asked to tie up their hair, and close-toed shoes should be worn during the making process.
In the case of accidentally causing minor cuts, not to worry, we have a first-aid kit in our gallery at all times.
Apply for Class
Reservations has to be made for all classes in advance:
- For weekdays, please confirm your reservation with us the week before
- For weekends, we advise our clients to reserve your bookings 2 weeks ahead, since weekends are usually very popular.
Full payment has to be made before booking (either in person or bank transfer). If you wish to change your booking after it has been confirmed, please inform us 2 days before the original date of appointment. We allow no more than twice for an individual client to change their booking.
In the case of absence during confirmed workshop time, we regret to inform you that those clients will not be refunded.
Please note, the minimum of assistant per class must be 2 people. If we don’t get that minimum the Chain Making Workshop can be cancelled or regrouped.
All our workshops are conducted by a professionally trained designer-maker and capable of teaching the workshops in English and Spanish.
